SIMPLETON

Simpleton is the soloproject of twenty-two year old songwriter Chris Berendsen.

Combining the sounds of bands like The Strokes, The Wombats and MGMT, Simpleton creates songs that are characterized by catchy hooks, static beats and coming of age lyrics. The soon to be released singles range from guitar-driven indierock to more synth-based altpop. All songs were written and arranged by Chris, and then recorded, produced and mixed by Stijn van Rijsbergen. The tracks were mastered by Darius van Helfteren.

The debut single ‘Light the Fuse’ was picked up by dutch radiostations like Kink and NPO 3FM, and also got some attention on NPO Radio 2. In the course of 2024 there will be a series of singles, as well as the release of two EP’s.
