RUBINCARTER
RubinCarter is the band built around singer-songwriter Sal Rubinstein (a.o. Queen’s
Pleasure). The first songs were written quietly on the edge of his bed, strumming simple
campfire chords that for a long time were meant for no one but himself. Only when he found the confidence to share them did he gather his closest friends and RubinCarter was born.
Together they discovered a warm, raw indie sound where introspective folk meets
unpolished rock.
RubinCarter blends a sharp sense of storytelling with the spirit of a garage-rock enthusiast with a closet full of worn-out band shirts. His music turns Rubinstein’s late-night thoughts and reflections into honest, relatable songs; but this all with a subtle touch of irony.
The lyrics move effortlessly from keen observations of everyday life to vulnerable love songs.
Most songs begin as intimate ideas on an acoustic guitar. With the band, they take on a
fuller shape, growing into open, dynamic indie anthems or fragile, understated moments that
invite the listener to pause and take it all in.
