BERTHAJU

BERTHAJU is a female-gaze indie punk band from the Netherlands & Germany. Taking inspiration from mostly male punk-rock groups like Viagra Boys and mixing it with the attitude of Wet Leg, BERTHAJU is what you get. Live, BERTHAJU delivers a highly energetic set that pulls the entire audience into their world.

BERTHAJU was one of the most booked acts of Popronde 2025, playing shows across the Netherlands and sharing stages with acts including Bilk, Overpass, Agatha Is Dead! and Pales.

On October 8th, BERTHAJU will release their third self-produced EP, Five Year Plan, in collaboration with Mattan / Shai. Five Year Plan is a roller coaster full of energy and big questions about life: How do you achieve your plans without watching them collapse right in front of you? Where do you get yourself a new cat phone? What exactly is the Dutch Circle of Death, and how do you stay sane in a fast-living culture? Get ready for business expansion, economic growth and personal development.

This EP introduces a heavier, grungier and more punk-driven sound, giving a clear direction to where BERTHAJU is heading. The singles have already received strong reactions, earning radio play across the Benelux and gaining attention from Spotify editorial playlists in the Benelux and GSA regions. Alongside the digital release, the EP will also be released on vinyl, accompanied by new self-designed and screen-printed merchandise.

Up next, you can catch BERTHAJU on the road as they tour Germany and Austria, before returning to the UK. The tour is booked by Trust Artists and will bring Five Year Plan to stages across Europe.

With a full schedule of shows and new music in hand, BERTHAJU is more than ready to be one of the acts you shouldn’t sleep on in 2027.
